Καταγάλανος ο Καναδάς για τα 200 χρόνια της Ελληνικής Επανάστασης
Για την Επαρχία του Οντάριο ο Μάρτιος μήνας είναι μήνας Ελληνικής Κληρονομιάς, με ιδιαίτερες εκδηλώσεις τιμής και μνήμης των Ελλήνων Ηρώων αλλά και της προσφοράς του Ελληνισμού στον Παγκόσμιο Πολιτισμό, την Ιστορία, τη Φιλοσοφία, την Επιστήμη και τις Τέχνες.
Για να τιμήσουν τα 200 χρόνια από την Ελληνική Επανάσταση, η Κυβέρνηση του Οντάριο, o Δήμος Τορόντο, αλλά και άλλοι Δήμοι όπως του Νιαγάρα, αποφάσισαν να φωτίσουν το βράδυ 24-25 Μαρτίου τα διάσημα αξιοθέατα τους με τα χρώματα της Ελληνικής Σημαίας.
Τετάρτη 24 Μαρτίου 8 μ.μ. στην πλατεία Nathan Philips Square θα φωτιστεί με τα χρώματα της ελληνικής σημαίας η μεγάλη επιγραφή «Τoronto» από τον δήμαρχο του Τορόντο. Ζωντανή μετάδοση: https://toronto.webex.com/toronto/onstage/g.php…

Στην Πρωτεύουσα του Καναδά Οτάβα και σε άλλες πόλεις όπως το Μοντρεάλ και το Βανκούβερ, θα υπάρξουν επίσημες τελετές έπαρσης της Ελληνικής Σημαίας και ανάλογες εορταστικές εκδηλώσεις μέσω διαδικτύου, καθώς και σημαιοστολισμοί των δημοτικών κτιρίων και επισήμων δρόμων, αλλά και παρελάσεις με αυτοκίνητα.
Η Ιερά Αρχιεπισκοπή Καναδά ευχαριστεί τους αρμόδιους που ενήργησαν, ώστε να τιμηθεί η 200η επέτειος της Ελληνικής Επανάστασης του 1821 στην Ottawa, Toronto, Mississauga, Hamilton, Niagara Falls, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Regina, Victoria, αλλά και σε άλλες πόλεις του Καναδά.

Painting Canada Blue to Mark the 200 Anniversary of the Greek Revolution
In the Province of Ontario, March is Hellenic Heritage Month, with special events honouring and remembering the Greek Heroes and the contribution of Hellenism to World Culture, History, Philosophy, Science and the Arts.
To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, the Government of Ontario, the City of Toronto, and other municipalities such as the City of Niagara Falls, decided to illuminate their famous landmarks on the night of March 24-25 with the colours of the Greek Flag.
On Wednesday, March 24 at 8 p.m. the “Toronto” sign at Nathan Philips Square will be illuminated with the colours of the Greek flag.
On Thursday, March, 25th, after sunset the famous CN Tower will be illuminated blue and white to commemorate the anniversary of the Revolution. Live Stream: https://www.cntower.ca/en-ca/home.html#earthcams
On the same evening from 9:45 – 10:00 p.m. Niagara Falls will be illuminated blue to commemorate the anniversary.
In the Canadian capital of Ottawa and other major cities across the country, such as Montreal and Vancouver, there will be official Greek flag raising ceremonies and similar celebrations online; the Greek National flag will also be displayed at municipal buildings and on main streets, as well as at parades.
