CAMP MET BC Winter Camp 2014

The 4th Annual Winter Camp was a success! Winter Camp at the Zajac Ranch for Children in Mission, British Columbia was full with 120 youth participating, led by Rev. Fr. Constantinos Economos — Parish Priest, St. George Vancouver and CAMP MET BC Director — Administrative Director Ms. Elleni Asimakis and our amazing group of volunteers. The theme of Winter Camp 2014 was Holiness, which campers not only spoke about but also prayed about during our first Sunday Divine Liturgy at CAMP MET BC. Campers enjoyed the pool, indoor gym, arts and crafts, Orthodox Life discussions, a Winter Dance and many other fun and spiritual activities and events. Many thanks to our sponsoring Greek Orthodox Communities (Hellenic Community of Vancouver, Greek Orthodox Community of East Vancouver, Greek Orthodox Community of Surrey, and the Victoria and Vancouver Island Greek Community), as well as our generous donors for making camp accessible through subsidies and sponsorships. Camp MET BC was blessed to add Rev. Fr. Timoleon Prattas — Parish Priest, Sts. Nicholas and Demetrios East Vancouver — to our family this year. Fr. Tim visited Camp, led two Orthodox Life discussions and served a Holy Unction for all our Campers. Winter Camp was our final event of 2014, the 5th Anniversary year for CAMP MET BC, therefore it was fitting that it took place at the Zajac Ranch where Camp Metamorphosis BC began in 2010 with 25 campers. We have come a long way and this year was our best yet with 150 participants at Summer Camp and 120 at Winter Camp. Glory to God! We pray to continually gather and enlighten our youth in the New Year and for years to come! CAMP MET BC will hold a Camp Reunion on Sunday, January 25th, at the Church of St. George in Vancouver.
